At last... a bit of decent weather! We have finally had at least three consecutive days of sun in Cambridgeshire, which has meant that the ‘lake’ in one of my grazing paddocks now only resembles a puddle! The last couple of weeks seem to have gone by so quickly so there is not really much to report. Daante is coming along in leaps and bounds and he is now equipped with four shoes. Mum may be taking him to a Pleasure Ride on Sunday so hopefully I’ll have some news to report on that next time.
Since September last year I have been exercising a lovely eventer, Blue Moon III (aka Blue), two or three times a week for his owner, who is a friend of mine. I have mainly been on walk duty, but I enjoy the days when Andria says ‘do you think you could take him for a canter today?’ I don’t think she knows that I am beaming on the inside as he has the most amazing canter!!
Blue is competed by Nat Dixon, and I was delighted to be part of ‘Team Blue’ at his first BE event of 2010 at Isleham last weekend. Competing in the Intermediate Novice he finished second behind Zara Phillips on her lovely looking grey Silver Lining V. Blue flew round the cross country course with his usual enthusiasm and all in all we had a great day. Hopefully I will have rediscovered my misplaced (!) camera in the next few days so that I can get some up to date photos of the horses for my next blog!
