"I have always lived in the country side and i have loved horses ever since i found out what they were! I have always wanted to work with horses and earn enough money to have my own horse, but I don't know what job i want to do when I'm older. I am currently doing my GCSE's, and I am doing triple science, art, english, german, maths, history and geography. Will any of these help in the future? Please help!"
Hello,
Well i have lived in the countryside all my life, and the same as you have loved horses ever since i knew what one was, i have already done my GCSES like you i chose art, but i did that graphics and textiles, german and double science , english lit etc etc. i thought i always wanted a career in the art world, as my main connection with horses is through my art work. I am an equestrain artist of some sort, but upon going to uni to study photography, half way through of having major thoughts about my life im 20, now. but ive made the decision to work wiht horses as that is what i love and what i love doing.
But i think its not the gcses, i mean the science is good because you could go on after a leval to do a degree in equine science or something like that and become a horse vet or vetnary horse assistant on upon which (TOCES) now do the courses for that. I think in the equine world, experience is the best! you need a great deal of common sense around horses, and also senstive etc. but to be anywhere in the equine world i do think you need qualifications. me at the moment i am working a part time job will be going to do a course at TOCES and will eventually start volunteering at stables just to get more knowledge and also that valuble experience to buld up my confidence as that is what i lack. i think voulteering is good as it shows your dedicated. just dont be taken for a mug like i was by a past employer. be strong headed in what you want and what you want to achieve. i know what part of the equine world i want to be in and im working towards acheiveing that dream! just be hardworking and dedicated.
