On one of the Beaufort Hunt’s last hunting days in the 2007/8 season, we watched Susie plaiting a horse, before being loaded onto the lorry. Susie, who’s worked at this yard for nearly 28 years, favours the needle and thread method because she says the plaits are more durable for a full day’s hunting. Nifty finger work, Susie!
