A broad mix of content in this selection including dressage from classical trainer David Pincus with student Olivia Towers and training for a native mare to improve her trot from Anna Brown, while Wayne Garrick has a dressage lesson on Hera, who is difficult in the contact, with Grand Prix rider Roger Gregory. Grid work from up and coming eventer Yasmin Ingham as she gets to know a new horse and young horse specialist Will Turnbull backs a competition prospect in the round pen before riding her in the main arena. Lots to inspire and educate!
Inimitable classical dressage trainer David Pincus works with Beth and Zantino on submission prior to canter changes, young event rider Yasmin Ingham uses poles on the ground to adjust the length of canter stride, senior eventer Louise Harwood uses a grid to improve a young horse's jumping technique and expert young horse specialist Will Turnbull mounts a horse for the first time, in the stable. Excerpts from this month's videos, which contain much to inform and educate!
Dressage rider Kate Cowell provides a superb running commentary on her training with young Maverick, while Wayne Garrick makes a dramatic entrance to the filming session with the tricky stallion Backfire, a problem show jumper who he's re-training for dressage with help from Grand Prix rider Roger Gregory. Pony dressage trainer Anna Brown works with the sensitive and spooky Favita and diminutive 4* eventer Louise Harwood jumps the huge Whitson (highest ranked British eventer in 2014) through a grid at home.
There is no end to the talents of classical dressage trainer David Pincus. When filming with him he showed us one of his less known stars, Sally Shetland "who can do all the Grand Prix dressage moves with her eyes closed!" says David. Sally and her rider Kathryn demonstrate correct paces and "a horse that truly works over her back" he adds. Piaffe (with a touch of levade) is followed by the 'piece de resistance', Sally's training to join the US Cavalry!! (Free to watch)
